
Welcome to Olof Månsgården, where we invite you to enjoy food delight throughout the year with local ingredients from the region and our garden.
On our farm located next to Kestad church we have transformed our old barn into a food studio. In the garden, a palette of scents and flavors awaits, which we combine and refine with local produce and the bounty of the forest. We make our own ice cream with real ingredients and no additives. From fruits and berries in our garden to more unexpected flavors, there’s a variety to indulge in.
Food
We have a summer-open restaurant where you can sit on our cozy outdoor terrace and savor the rural environment. Throughout the rest of the year, we offer theme nights, guest chefs, and much more on selected dates. It’s a perfect opportunity to meet locals and experience Sweden as the Swedes do!
Our kitchen draws inspiration from modern cooking and old traditions from both Scandinavia and culinary cultures from other parts of the world. About Us
We, Maria and Per Åke Jern, passionately run Olof Månsgården in Kestad. After moving here over 25 years ago, we transformed the farm into a vibrant place. With renovated buildings, a diverse garden, and a new food studio in the old barn, we aim to create a warm and welcoming environment and contribute to a thriving rural community. Our strong interest in local food is evident, with Maria overseeing cultivation and Per Åke leading the kitchen. Our entire family plays a significant role in the operation, constantly working on new ideas. We opened Olof Månsgården to visitors in 2022 – welcome to our world!
Accessibility
For those with reduced mobility, we have an accessibility-adapted parking space, a ramp into the venue, and a spacious, accessible toilet. For the little ones, the toilet is also equipped with a changing table. The venue is free of thresholds. The ceiling in the venue is equipped with sound absorbers for a pleasant auditory experience for everyone.
Sustainability
When setting our tables, we adorn them with flowers from our garden. The tables are made from an Ash tree previously located on the farm, crafted by the carpentry nearby. Linen napkins, porcelain, glassware, and other furniture are second-hand. In our toilets, we provide terrycloth towels that are washed and reused instead of disposable products.
All our wastewater goes to a mini wastewater treatment plant, and the nitrogen collected becomes fertilizer for the fields. We use only environmentally certified cleaning agents. In short, we are careful to make the most of what surrounds us to reduce our environmental footprint for future generations.
